I’m Sam Alcantara, a photographer based in Lancaster, PA.

I shoot both film and digital, drawn to the in-between moments most people miss. My work is about noticing—light on a wall, a quiet street, the beauty hiding in plain sight. I find meaning in the mundane, and through my lens, I try to show the ordinary as something worth looking at twice.

I began my photography journey in 2021 with a film camera in hand, drawn to the tactile, deliberate nature of analog photography. Learning the technical side through film shaped the way I see the world—slowing things down, paying attention to light, composition, and timing. In 2023, I expanded into digital work and started photographing events, gaining experience in more dynamic environments. But what continues to ground my work is a quiet fascination with the overlooked. Through both film and digital, I find myself chasing the small, in-between moments—the subtle gestures, the pauses, the beauty tucked into the everyday. That’s where I think the most honest stories live.
